I first inventoried...Your experience mirrors mine. I first inventoried all parts in the box and came up with 22 missing parts, from tubes to nuts and bolts. I too was missing the main support piece for the boom. I received the missing parts about one month later. I now have the 4 elements put together according to the instructions and mounted on the boom. But, the demensions don't match the instructions. I printed out a demensions page from another website and am now comparing that with MFJ paper work. I can't say I will ever buy another MFJ antenna again. I have two and am not that happy.
